The ignition advance is the adjustment curve programmed in the control unit and shifts depending on the engine speed. The ignition advance is based on the mechanical advance. That means: a shift in the mechanical adjustment also shifts the ignition advance. Moving the mechanical feed also shifts the ignition feed. The mechanical adjustment is 33 degrees before TDC, the ignition adjustment shifts by 17 degrees before TDC at 15000 rpm, so the adjustment falls to 16 degrees before TDC. If it is set to 31 degrees, the result is 14 degrees at 15,000 rpm. If you set it to 35 degrees before TDC, you get 18 degrees before TDC at 15,000 rpm and so on. Optimal motor operation depends almost entirely on a successful installation with the correct fixed angle.
