The inner cables are made of special cable steel (and not the more brittle stainless steel most commonly used today). That's why Schmitt Premium cable hoists don't break as quickly as mass-produced ones.

Schmitt cable pulls for classic vehicles are manufactured in the same design that was standard at the time the vehicles were manufactured. This means that all fans of classic vehicles can always use a cable pull that is true to the original. Since an inner cable manufactured in the old way tends to rust, it is lubricated for life with an Interflon high-performance fluid grease.
